Is the internship flexible?
The program runs entirely remotely — from your home or office. All learning content and modules are managed online, so you can complete the coursework at your pace before moving on to hands-on project experience. It's designed to fit around study, work, or other commitments.
I work full time. Can I still do it?
Yes. Module access is available 24/7. If you submit outside business hours you may wait until the next business day for mentor feedback. The program is suitable for candidates regardless of location or availability.
Who is this program suitable for?
Students, graduates, and anyone looking to fast-track into software testing and consulting. It's ideal for people without local Australian commercial experience, those returning after a break of six months or more, and career changers from unrelated fields — we've had successful interns come from accounting, medicine, and other industries.
I'm based outside Australia — can I apply?
Yes. Apply regardless of where you live. The program is built around remote collaboration tools and reflects how most modern organisations operate. You'll come away having worked with a team across different locations — a realistic and increasingly essential skill.
How long does it take to complete?
The program is designed around 4 weeks of content and project work, and is flexible — you can move faster or take longer to fit around study, work, or other commitments. If you need more time, the program can be extended to support you.
Will I get real project experience?
Yes — this is the core of what makes the program different. After completing the modules, you join a Testpoint team with real software developers, testers, and project managers, fully supervised and shadowing an experienced testing consultant.
What does it cost?
Normally $1,299 AUD, currently $499 AUD — a one-time payment covering Level 1 and the optional Level 2 (Selenium Automation). The fee supports mentor time and feedback, licensing for collaboration and content platforms, ongoing maintenance of course material, and practical work-experience mentoring in the final phase.
Will I be guaranteed employment with Testpoint?
No — the program is not an employment agreement. However, it has successfully led to employment for the majority of interns who complete it, and Testpoint is willing to provide a reference. Confidence, communication, and real project experience all improve meaningfully after successful completion.
How difficult is it? Are there exams?
No exams. You respond to questions through video or audio recordings, and your mentor evaluates progress and gives coaching — much like how a manager would work with you in the workforce. The goal is to train you to think like a tester and to expose you to real software testing consultants working on real commercial projects.
Will I get a certificate and a reference?
Yes. On successful completion, you receive a certificate of completion and permission to list "Internship — Software Testing at Testpoint" on LinkedIn. Your mentor can also be named as a reference on future job applications.
How do I apply?
Complete the registration form on the Testpoint Internship Register page. Applications are reviewed within 48 hours. A virtual Teams meeting is arranged to discuss your situation and walk you through the full program, modules, and the project experience component.
