Silver Chef is Australia’s only dedicated hospitality equipment funding solution. Since its inception in 1986, it has helped more than 25,000 customers, from start-up cafes to large restaurants and hotels, to realise their business dreams. Silver Chef Limited listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2005 operates in three countries: Australia, New Zealand and Canada. We employ more than 200 dedicated people.
Context
Silver Chef partnered with a local Technology Development Vendor to build an integrated complex web solution to support its core business operations. It became apparent that the lack of strategic test and quality assurance input was impacting the delivery of the Application Under Test (AUT). Silver Chef did not have the internal capability to support this function hence they engaged Testpoint to help them manage the quality assurance and software testing of the AUT, focusing on stabilising current releases and deploying the required test framework to support ongoing deliverables not only for this project but across all IT related project initiatives.
Solution
Testpoint established the following:
- Focused on stabilising the quality of the system by running a number of test packages to support the Application Under Test (AUT)
- A robust defect triage process was introduced to manage expectations of both Silver Chef and Vendor
- At the same time, a testing framework using Vansah was deployed to manage system testing by the Vendor and User Acceptance by Silver Chef
